ABOUT KOH MUAY THAI
Koh Muay Thai Instructors love, respect, and believe in their Nak Muays.
Koh Muay Thai Lutz strives to continue the traditional Thai methods in each class, paying special attention to emphasize devotion and respect to the participant and the sport as well. Students otherwise known as Nak Muays of Muay Thai, are now a part of the Koh Muay Thai community and family when they become a member. In turn, the students give each trainer’s full respect, commitment, and devotion—and it is expected in return.
Muay Thai is known internationally as a combat sport, and is widely known as the national sport of Thailand. More popularly known as “The Art of 8 Limbs”, Muay Thai uses punches, knees, elbows, kicks, and clinching techniques. It is a effective and simple fighting style that practices techniques and fundamental drills.
Muay Thai conditioning is considered one of the most difficult for athletes, although the conditioning almost entirely consists of blocking drills and performing strikes, offensive and defensive footwork, running, jump rope, body weight resistance exercises, and pad holding. One can expect to burn an average of 900-1200 calories during a Muay Thai workout!
